Lauren Protheroe
Currently on maternity leave.
Lauren recognises the importance of building trustworthy relationships with her clients and their families and ensures they are fully supported when pursuing a medical negligence claim. Lauren has experience in dealing with a wide range of medical negligence claims including cases involving surgical errors, delays in diagnosis as well as orthopaedic and ophthalmic injuries. Lauren has also dealt with numerous cases under the NHS Redress, Putting Things Right Scheme.
As well as her own cases, Lauren is also heavily involved with assisting the Head of the team Matthew Owen with complex birth injury cases.
Lauren’s friendly and professional approach ensures that our Clients fully understand the legal process and are kept up to date throughout.
Lauren graduated with a First Class Honours Law Degree in 2016 and completed the Legal Practice Course with distinction the following year. Upon completion of her studies, Lauren commenced her training contract at JCP in 2017 and qualified into the Medical Negligence team in 2019. Lauren became a Director in April 2024.
Lauren is a member of the Swansea Junior Lawyers Division, where she plays a key role in organising networking events for junior lawyers in the community. Lauren has also recently taken over the role of Secretary for Headway Swansea and is a member of the Swansea and West Wales Brain Injury Group.
In 2020, Lauren became a Dementia Friend, she has also received training from the Stroke Association on the importance of building stroke friendly communities.
Outside of work, Lauren enjoys going on holiday, spending time with her family and friends and walking her dog, Harvey. Lauren also enjoys keeping fit and has completed the JCP Swansea Half Marathon and Llanelli Half Marathon where she raised over £800 for charity.
