St Davids Cathedral Festival St Davids Cathedral Festival

Each year we are pleased and proud to support St Davids Cathedral Festival. The St Davids Cathedral Festival has been bringing classical music to the heart of west Wales for the past 35 years. For ten days annually in May and June (during the Spring Bank Holiday week) the cathedral hosts a feast of classical and contemporary music concerts.

Dementia Friendly Dementia Friendly

The Alzheimer’s Society’s Dementia Friends programme is the biggest ever initiative to change people’s perceptions of dementia. It aims to transform the way the nation thinks, acts and talks about the condition. Members of our team have undergone training to become Dementia Friends. A Dementia Friend learns a little bit more about what it's like to live with dementia and then turns that understanding into action.

Disability Confident Employer Disability Confident Employer

JCP Solicitors have been recognised by the Disability Confident Scheme for the Department of Work and Pensions to be committed to the recruitment and retention of disabled people.

Swansea Bay Business Life and the South Wales Evening Post run a business club aimed at nurturing and championing the most ambitious and fast growing companies in the area. Each year the invitation-only club invites 25 new members from the area, made up of the most promising businesses and JCP Solicitors is delighted to be members.

Headyway Headway

Headway is a charity that helps and supports people affected by brain injury. JCP Solicitors are recognised by Headway as specialist solicitors with experience in handling brain injury cases and as such are listed in their Solicitor Directory.  Members of our Injury Services team are active members of the local Headway community.

JCP Swansea Half Generic Swansea Half Marathon

JCP Solicitors is very proud to have been the inaugural and title sponsor of the Swansea Half Marathon from 2014- 2022. We are pleased to continue to support the race as one of the Partners.

Paul Sartori Paul Sartori

Corporate Director Betsan Powell is a trustee for Paul Sartori, a registered Pembrokeshire charity offering hands on care, equipment loan and advice for those living in the later stages of a life limiting illness. The Paul Sartori Foundation has been one of JCP's past Charities of the Year and we continue to support them through sponsorship of various events and activities.

The Pembrokeshire Four Seasons Business Lunch runs four times a year in venues throughout Pembrokeshire, calling together likeminded business people in an informal setting to build business networks and relationships. This event is sponsored by JCP Solicitors, Ashmole & Co Chartered Accountants, Thomas Carroll and The Development Bank of Wales. Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution

The RABI is a welfare charity for the farming community that was initially started in 1860. They provide financial and practical support to member of the farming community who are facing difficulties. Malcolm Thomas MBE, JCP’s Rural Client Manager, is the current Chairman of the charity.

JCP Solicitors are proud to be sponsors of the Royal Welsh Show. We have provided sponsorship to the summer show since 2004 and the winter show since 2012. We hold a annual Client breakfast at both shows.

South Wales Chamber of Commerce South Wales Chamber of Commerce

JCP Solicitors are gold members of the South Wales Chamber of Commerce. The South Wales Chamber of Commerce is a membership-based business support organisation run by local businesses, for local businesses. We also help to run the SWCC Swansea Young Professionals (SYP)- a group of younger professionals looking to meet others in similar roles early on in their careers.

South West Wales Brain Injury Group South West Wales Brain Injury Group

Directors Amy Seppman and Mei Li are committee members of the South West Wales Brain Injury Group. The Group exists to promote Brain Injury awareness in the community, and the committee oversees a 200 delegate Brain Injury conference in the swansea.com stadium, Swansea every year. St Davids Cathedral St Davids Cathedral

Director in our Fisguard office, Arwel Davies is a Layclerk, Chapter Clerk and Legal Officer for St Davids Cathedral, Chairman of the St Davids Cathedral Festival and a Trustee for Friends of the Cathedral. The Friends were formed in 1932 and is an organisation which draws together individuals, corporate groups and parishes from across the world who wish to support the mission and ministry of St Davids Cathedral.

Swansea Bay Business Swansea Bay Business Club

Swansea Bay Business Club is the city's longest established and most prestigious business networking club. The club exists to promote business within the Swansea Bay Region, and to enhance the profile of the city more widely. Director and CEO Hayley Davies was a past President of the Club and Marketing Director Amy Seppman is also a board member and will be President 2024-2025.

University Legal Practice Course The Swansea University Legal Practice Course (LPC)

For more than 10 years we have run a successful undergraduate scheme for pupils to gain work experience during a year’s paid placement at JCP between their 2nd and 3rd year studying Law at Swansea University. We also sponsor the property law and practice, and business law and practice modules of the Swansea University Legal Practice Course (LPC). A professional practical course that develops important practice skills and confidence for a successful career in law in England and Wales.

Welsh Language The Welsh Language

We are proud to be able to liaise with our clients in the Welsh language and have fluent Welsh speakers in many teams across the business. A Consultant in our business is our Welsh Language Coordinator, and Our Welsh Language Policy is supported and approved by The Welsh Language Commissioner.

Ty Hafan Ty Hafan

Director & CEO of JCP Solicitors, Hayley Davies, during her presidential term of Swansea Business Club initially pledged to raise £20,000 for Ty Hafan. In the end she raised approximately £60,000 through various activities including encouraging members of the business community to join her walking the Three Peaks of Wales, cycling from Paris to London and jumping out of a plane over Gower. Ty Hafan is one of JCP’s previous Charities of the Year.

Wales Air Ambulance Wales Air Ambulance

The Wales Air Ambulance provides three helicopter ambulances covering the principality 365 days of the year. Responding to the most serious of 999 calls, a pilot and two advanced life support paramedics can have the helicopter airborne in 2 to 3 minutes and are normally on scene between 8 and 10 minutes of take off. Lives are saved on a daily basis by the emergency crews and the service relies totally on public donations to survive.

JCP Solicitors are proud to have supported the Wales Air Ambulance at Christmas 2013 by producing a charity Christmas Carol raising over £850. We have also provided free of charge talks to groups and societies on behalf of the Wales Air Ambulance on Legacy Giving.

Wales YFC Wales YFC

Wales YFC is a national youth voluntary organisation for young people living in predominantly rural areas. Every year JCP sponsor the junior member of the year competition, offering the winner a two week work experience slot in our marketing and agricultural legal teams.

West Wales Business Awards West Wales Business Awards

The West Wales Business Awards, run by SWW Media’s Carmarthen Journal and Llanelli Star, celebrate the achievements of companies and individuals, highlighting all that is great about the west Wales region's economy and business community. JCP Solicitors have been proud to be a category sponsor of these awards since 2015.

Women in Wales Luncheon Women in Wales Luncheon

In April 1992, Women in Wales held its first luncheon event. Now, a quarter of a century on, the Women in Wales volunteer committee is still proud to host what remains one of the most distinguished and enjoyable events in the Welsh women's business and social calendar. The event is held annually in recognition and celebration of the achievements of women up and down this country whilst raising valuable funds for various children's charities. Director Betsan Powell sits on the Women in Wales committee and is Chair 2023-2024. JCP is proud to be one of the event sponsors.

Welsh Hearts Welsh Hearts

In 2018 we chose to support Welsh Hearts as our charity of the year, and pledged to install a public access defibrillator in each of our office locations. Our colleagues organised line dancing evenings, ran races in silly costumes, baked cakes, held raffles, and all sorts of other inventive things to raise money for this very good cause. We completed our final and 9th installation in October 2019. The issue of heart health is a very serious one and we are pleased to have done our bit to raise awareness and provide additional life-saving equipment to the communities where we are based.

Cardiff JLD Cardiff JLD

Cardiff JLD (Junior Lawyers Division) represent junior lawyers including students, paralegals, trainee solicitors, CILEx lawyers, solicitors and barristers of up to five years qualification in the Cardiff and South East Wales area. They hold annual elections for their committee and JCP have a number of staff members elected for this committee helping to bring together trainee professionals. We are proud to support the legal sector workforce of the future by being one of their regular event sponsors.
