Angela Killa
Angela is a Director in our Family Team based at our Carmarthen Office, specialising in all aspects of Family Law including complex children matters, divorce and financial remedies.
Angela has recently been appointed as a member of Resolution’s Children Committee, the aim of which is working to protect children in the family justice system and help members of Resolution put children at the centre of family justice. Having already been a member of Resolution for many years Angela is committed to promoting a constructive approach to family issues that considers the needs of the whole family and now looks forward to shaping and influencing the future approach in relation to matters concerning children as a member of the Children Committee.
Angela has been a member of the Law Society’s Children Panel for over 10 years - a recognised quality standard for practitioners dealing with children law proceedings. Angela is described in the Legal 500 as having “an excellent reputation handling complex children matters…”.
Angela writes a fortnightly legal advice column in the Carmarthen Journal on topical Family law issues. Angela can often be seen talking about legal issues on S4C’s Welsh Language magazine programme, Prynhawn Da.
In January 2024, Angela, as part of her role on the Resolution Children’s Committee, had an article published in their monthly publication which is shared with all Resolution members. The article, entitled ‘Surrogacy: A Practical and Personal Approach’, details the importance of family law professionals understanding complex surrogacy laws and the practical aspects of advising clients in relation to this sensitive area of practice. Resolution’s Code of Practice and Good Practice Guides provide solicitors with valuable tools that assist greatly when dealing with these matters, putting the client’s best interest first.
Out of work, Angela can be found spending time with her family as well as cycling or walking the Welsh Countryside. Angela has participated in a number of half marathons and the CARTEN (a cycle from Cardiff to Tenby) often raising funds for charities by doing so.
