JCP Installs Life-Saving Equipment Throughout Wales

Residents throughout nine Welsh towns and cities now have extra peace of mind, thanks to the installation of life-saving defibrillators by Welsh law firm, JCP Solicitors.
Having pledged its support to Welsh Hearts as its Charity of the Year during 2018/19, JCP Solicitors has donated a public-access defibrillator in each town that has a JCP office – Swansea, Carmarthen, Fishguard, Cardiff, Cowbridge, Caerphilly, Pontypridd, Haverfordwest, and St Davids.
The lifesaving equipment has been installed in accessible spots, either directly outside the JCP office, or, in some cases by a local supermarket, with one donated to the Carmarthen Harriers.
Hayley Davies, JCP Director and CEO says: “We are very proud of our JCP colleagues for getting behind our Charity of the Year, and we have been happy to support the important work of Welsh Hearts in this very practical, long-lasting way, by donating defibrillators.
“Here at JCP our teams always put their heart and soul into supporting our communities, and our Charity of the Year activities this year has been no exception. We have seen our JCP colleagues organise line dancing evenings, run marathons in silly costumes, bake and sell cakes, hold raffles, and do all sort of other inventive things to raise money for this very good cause. The issue of heart health is a very serious one and we are pleased to have done our bit to raise awareness over the past 12 months.”
Welsh Hearts is well known for placing more than 1,300 defibrillators in public and communal spaces – from rugby grounds and pubs to libraries and churches - within communities across Wales, in a drive to safeguard people at risk of premature death from cardiovascular disease. Cardiovascular disease accounts for a third of all deaths in Wales, where the death rate is higher than in the majority of countries in Western Europe. And Welsh Hearts is the leading heart charity in Wales for siting defibrillators in communities and delivering CPR and defibrillator training.
