Howzat For A Summer Fundraiser? Max Boyce to Entertain at Gowerton Cricket Club

Legendary Welsh entertainer, Max Boyce, may be searching for something to rhyme with ‘bowled a googly’, since he’s due to keep the crowds entertained at Gowerton Cricket Club’s big summer fundraiser.
The comic song specialist and spinner of tall tales heads to the venue on Friday 26 July, to be the star attraction amid a day of cricket, lunch and music, to help fund the renovation of the club’s pavilion.
The day begins at 10.30am, with a T20 match between Gowerton 1st XI and a team from the MCC, with the day being sponsored by JCP Solicitors again this year.
JCP Director and stalwart of Gowerton Cricket Club, Keith Thomas, said: “We are very much looking forward to welcoming Max Boyce to Gowerton Cricket Club for a lively day of comedy, cricket, food and enjoyment. Gowerton Cricket Club has been a proud part of the sporting landscape since the late 1800s, lifting the Haig Village Cup at Lords in 1975. The Club is proud of its history and its deep roots within the local community and I’m very pleased we are able to bring this event to the region, not least to raise funds to renovate our pavilion.
“We work hard to put on crowd-pulling events at GCC. Last year we gathered together some of the biggest names in English cricket, to go in to bat with Gowerton Cricket Club in a star studded PCA England Masters Xl match - the first such event in Wales. I would encourage all cricket supporters – and Max Boyce fans – to come along to our summer event.”
Corporate tables for 10 attendees are available, priced £500. For more details, contact: keith.thomas@jcpsolicitors.co.uk.
