Keith Thomas
Keith is a founder of the business and specialises in maximum severity claims arising from birth and acquired brain injury. He is a recognised National authority in this field. He has been involved in many of the leading cases in this area of law and has worked tirelessly to help those involved in serious accidents for more than thirty years.
Damages recovered for his clients exceed £500M. Keith is keen to point out that these monies are not a lottery win. They pay for much-needed property adaptations, wheelchairs, vehicles, therapy, care and support, aids and equipment together with a myriad of other additional costs.
The Legal 500 ranks him consistently among the leading individual solicitors in Wales and he is particularly accomplished at handling maximum severity acquired brain injury and birth injury cases.
Ranked in the 2023 Hall of Fame for Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence Claims, The Legal 500 2023 Edition states ‘very canny litigator‘ Keith Thomas ‘always has an excellent grasp of the issues across a range of complex matters’.
Keith has also been singled out in previous Legal 500 editions as ‘exceptional’, ‘superb’ and ‘highly knowledgeable' and is acknowledged for taking a ‘genuine interest in client’s welfare’.
Keith is commended by Chambers 2023 as one of their Senior Statespeople. He is seen by peers as a "tough opponent" with particular expertise in birth and acquired brain injury cases. He has also been identified in previous editions as a "very good specialist lawyer" and is acclaimed for his expertise in catastrophic injury cases. Other Guides have described Keith as a “walking encyclopaedia” and his advice is said to be “amongst the most sought after in Wales”.
Keith has previously been instructed by the Official Solicitor in professional negligence claims against other solicitors arising from the mishandling of maximum severity in clinical negligence and personal injury claims.
When asked what he likes most about his job, Keith said:
“I am inspired to get up every morning by the indomitable survivors of catastrophic injury, together with their extraordinary families. Their achievements never cease to amaze me. I hope that I have helped them a little along the way”.
Keith is a member of the Law Society's Personal Injury Panel, the Headway Specialist Panel and is the past president of the Swansea & District Law Society.
