South West Wales law firm, JCP Solicitors, has completed its merger successfully with specialist firm Glamorgan Law, in a move that has created the largest law firm with offices solely in Wales.

JCP Solicitors has already positioned itself as one of the most highly regarded legal businesses in the region, with established offices in Swansea, Carmarthen and throughout Pembrokeshire.

The coming together of the two businesses sees JCP Solicitors extend its geographical reach throughout South East Wales, by investing in Glamorgan Law’s existing offices in Caerphilly, Cardiff, Cowbridge and Pontypridd.

On an all-important personal level, staff from both businesses have already shown a real affinity for working together towards a common aim of creating a thriving new law firm offering outstanding legal expertise to its clients across the region.

Glamorgan Law’s 8 Partners and 50 additional members of staff have remained within the merged company, with Senior Partners Peter Davies and Richard Beech taking up business ownership in JCP. The newly merged law firm will have a turnover in excess of £10 million, which will place it within the top *200 law firms in the UK.

JCP Director and CEO, Hayley Davies, said: “We are very pleased to see the continued expansion of JCP Solicitors via our completed merger with Glamorgan Law.

“Growth has always been our strategy, but the hallmark of all of our mergers has been to ensure that any new alliance completely emulates the JCP ethos, culture and client offering.

“Both JCP Solicitors and Glamorgan Law have undertaken a number of mergers and acquisitions in the past so this process isn't new to us and we have all shown a real commitment to making this a seamless and a productive process. We have also been mindful of the importance of building positive long-term relationships within this newly merged company, and this has already begun to bear fruit.

“This merger sees us broaden into a new area geographically but we will continue to retain and nurture the strong community ties to all the areas in which we operate.

“Our business has always had a focus on developing people and ensuring we are prepared for succession at all levels. This merger creates opportunities for further career progression for team members at both JCP Solicitors and Glamorgan Law."

Peter Davies, former Senior Partner at Glamorgan Law, and now Business Owner in JCP Solicitors said: “This is a very pleasing progression for Glamorgan Law and we are delighted to have merged with a company we have so much respect for.

“Glamorgan Law is pleased to benefit from the added resource that JCP Solicitors can bring in terms of key management functions for IT, HR, Marketing, and Finance. We are very much looking forward to working alongside the business owners and directors at JCP. The firm’s diverse range of people with a wide skill set will help us continue to bring niche services and specialist expertise to the communities of Wales.

“Both Glamorgan Law and JCP Solicitors bring much legal expertise and experience to the table, as well as a real respect for the legal profession, and for the way diligent and dedicated legal practitioners can be a real force for good in their locality.

“I am confident that this merger marks the beginning of a new era for us as a business and it will give us an even stronger bedrock for continued growth.”
