Organisers of the JCP Swansea Half Marathon have announced that entries are now open for businesses and organisations to take part in next year’s race. The opportunity to enter the Corporate Challenge is open to any organisation, whether it be a social enterprise or a large commercial operation.

The Corporate Challenge was introduced to give corporate teams the opportunity to get involved in one of the UK’s fastest growing half marathons, whilst giving their business exposure and visibility at a major sporting event. The event offers a fantastic platform for companies to actively promote a healthy work force and to encourage fitness, motivation and team building in the business environment whilst raising money for charity.

JCP Swansea Half Marathon Corporate ChallengeThe inaugural Corporate Challenge took place in 2015 and saw eleven companies battle it out for the winning title, including headline sponsor JCP Solicitors. The team from HMT Sancta Maria won the first Corporate Challenge Champions title and they aim to be back to defend their title in 2016.

Corporate teams consist of between five to fifty runners, and the team with the fastest combined team time (average time of the top five fastest finishers) will win the Corporate Challenge Champions title.

Race Director David Martin-Jewell commented: “We are delighted to be bringing back the very successful Corporate Challenge for 2016 and we are pleased to announce that registration is now open.  The Corporate Challenge was hugely popular at our race this year and the feedback we received from participating businesses was fantastic.  We are aiming to build on its success for 2016 and we would encourage as many companies as possible from the Swansea Bay region and beyond to take on the team challenge. This is the perfect team building experience from the moment of registration right through to race day, the journey a team can make is incredible.”.

“A large number of businesses are based in Swansea and the surrounding area, and we are hoping to encourage lots of healthy competition not just internally but also between the region’s businesses to see who will be crowned Champion of the 2016 Swansea Half Marathon Corporate Challenge. Running is great for people’s morale and raising money for the company’s nominated charity will be an additional incentive. Now is the perfect time to sign up your teams.”

Corporate team entries cost £33+VAT per person for teams of 5-10 entrants, £32+VAT per person for 11-25 entrants and £30+VAT per person for 26-50 entrants. The entry fee includes the team or company name on every runner’s bib, a listing on the Corporate Challenge web page on the race website, access to training advice and plans, plus a medal, technical t-shirt and goody bag for every finisher. The organisers will also award a donation of £100 to the winning team’s charity of choice.
