JCP Solicitors, got their overalls on and paintbrushes out in order to help the Carmarthen office of Tenovus Cancer Care.

Wales’s leading cancer charity brings treatment, emotional support and practical advice to where it matters most; the heart of the community. In this case, they do this through their office on Penuel Street, giving counselling and advice to those affected by cancer.

After a brand refresh in December 2014, the charity offices needed updating so a team of employees from JCP Solicitors stepped up to the mark and donated some working hours to give the offices a lick of paint, bringing them up to date.

Dymphna Powell, Solicitor at JCP Solicitors (who recently merged with Pritchard Edwards in Carmarthen) was delighted to help Tenovus Cancer Care.

Dymphna said: “It is great that JCP staff were given the time off to volunteer to such a worthwhile charity.  Cancer charities are always very close to people’s hearts and as a Wills specialist I see how awful it can be when it touches the lives of my clients and their families. I think it is important that we can give something back and I feel privileged to be one of the 10 staff members involved.”

Cat Johnston, Volunteer Development Manager at Tenovus Cancer Care, couldn’t be more grateful for the firm’s help. “Employee volunteering is really important to us at Tenovus Cancer Care. It helps us to do so much more, and complete those dream projects that we wouldn’t have time to do otherwise. It’s also really fun for the people taking part, and it gives us the chance to show them some of the amazing work we do supporting people affected by cancer, so they know what all their hard work and support goes towards. It’s a brilliant way of connecting with local businesses and involving them with what we’re doing”.

Tenovus Cancer Care is currently building employee volunteering opportunities and offers a range of employee volunteering days to choose from. If your business would be interested in taking part in a bespoke employee volunteering day, please contactvolunteer@tenovuscancercare.org.uk.
