Thomas Rees

Director - Medical Negligence

With well over a decade of specialist clinical negligence experience, Thomas deals with cases across the full spectrum of medical negligence. He runs a varied and complex caseload of catastrophic spinal injuries, amputation claims, gynaecological, orthopaedic and cases involving cancer.

Thomas joined the Injury Services team at JCP Solicitors in 2013 having worked and trained for several years in Cardiff. He became a Director in 2018 and more recently a Business Owner in 2023.

As a medical negligence Director, Thomas is committed to building strong and trusted relationships with all his clients. He believes this is vital given the trust and responsibility injured people place in their solicitor in pursuing any claim. This also allows him to have a better understanding of the individual's needs and objectives as each client is very different. He recognises that in most clinical negligence cases the effects are devastating and long lasting.

Thomas takes care to clearly explain the process and keeps his clients fully up to date at every stage. This helps not only relieve some of the anxiety and apprehension a client may have but it also means the case progresses as quickly and smoothly as possible.

While Thomas is based in Carmarthen, he works from all our offices throughout South Wales and regularly sees clients in Cardiff, Caerphilly, Haverfordwest and Fishguard.

Thomas has been on the committee of the West Wales Law Society for many years and is a past president.

Thomas is proud to be a member of the Spinal Injuries Association working closely with SIA to support people with spinal injuries. JCP Solicitors is currently the only SIA business member with 8 local offices spread across South and West Wales.

Outside of work, Thomas is kept very busy with his wife, three young children and Dalmatian. When he is not being run ragged at home you will find him in the garage doing woodwork and DIY. He has recently finished restoring a Morris Minor Traveller.
