Emma James

Emma helps support the daily routine of our 200 + employees across all offices in South, East and West Wales. Emma works closely with our HR Manager to help manage our workforce effectively, including managing absence and recruitment, and enabling the implementation and compliance to our Staff Handbook and other policies and procedures.

Emma originally joined JCP Solicitors as part of the Conveyancing Team in April 2007. After 10 years experience in this area of the law, developing and managing relationships with clients, local estate agents and developers, Emma decided she would like a change of direction in the business. In July 2017 Emma took on the new challenge of HR Officer following our merger with Glamorgan Law and the addition of another 50+ employees. Emma’s legal background and her knowledge of JCP people, systems and processes is seen as invaluable to the HR team.

Emma graduated from Cardiff University with a degree in Criminology and Sociology in 2005. Whilst awaiting the beginning of their recruitment process she had a variety of job positions from marketing to cabin crew, and eventually decided she would like to continue with something more academic, and always had an interest in law.

Emma undertook training in 2020 to become a Dementia Friend. A Dementia Friend learns more about what it is like to live with dementia and then turns that understanding into action.

Outside of work Emma enjoys long walks on the beach and spending time with friends and family.
