JCP Solicitors Advises Pembrokeshire’s Ascona Group on Successful Forecourt Purchase

Recently, our teams acted for award-winning forecourt operators and Pembrokeshire head quartered, Ascona Group in their acquisition of three sites across Powys, taking the total number of sites owned by Ascona to 62 across the UK.
Mark Gilroy, Director and Head of Commercial Property, and Natalie Jones, a Director in our Corporate Commercial team, worked closely with Ascona to ensure a smooth and efficient handover of the petrol station businesses carried on by Bradleys’ Garages at Caersws, Llanidloes and Newtown to Ascona and as part of the deal, secured for Ascona, a new 20-year lease at each site.
The new sites in mid-Wales strengthen Ascona’s UK-wide holdings, supporting the business’ long-term development strategy.
Pembrokeshire-based Ascona has a strong history of developing road-side retail destinations, regenerating and upgrading forecourts across the country to cater for visitors and the local community’s needs. With over 800 employees – 301 of which are Wales-based – the company has targets to operate 150+ sites by 2028. Serving 45,000 customers per day, Ascona sites play a key role in local economies, and their three new sites in mid-Wales will support the business’s growth trajectory.
