Environmental Responsibility

At JCP Solicitors our strategy is to work towards reducing our carbon footprint. We are starting to make progress and have so far:

• Set up an environmental and sustainability group that meets on a quarterly basis
• Worked with Keep Wales Tidy as our charity of the year 23/24
• Moved to a paper-light environment
• Encourage the use of an e-signature provider in all teams of the business
• Implemented recycling in all kitchen areas for tin, plastic, cardboard and food waste
• Considered the environmental impact in every decision we make
• Introduced shared mileage allowance when sharing journeys with others
• Reduced our travel impact by making more use of video conferencing
• Team members can opt to have digital business cards
• In our Swansea HQ, the largest of our offices, we have changed our fluorescent bulbs to LED lights, which has meant that the lighting system is now up to 80% more efficient. LED lighting lasts over 20 times longer than traditional bulbs meaning they won’t need to be replaced as often, reducing our carbon footprint even further
• We recycle out of date letter head into notebooks for our colleagues to use

Our future plans include:

• Looking at energy saving
• Calculating our carbon usage and how we can reduce this and how to offset what we cannot control
• Investigating the use of electric cars

We know that our environmental strategy is important to all our stakeholders and that is why we are committed to making a climate pledge.
