National Apprenticeship Week: Celebrating Apprenticeship Success

Each February sees Apprenticeship Week take place across Wales, shining a spotlight on the successes apprenticeships can bring to businesses.

At JCP Solicitors, we are proud to play our part in training the next generation of legal minds through work-based learning programmes. We offer business administration apprenticeships to those seeking hands-on experience and enhancement of skillsets in all aspects of business support, and legal apprenticeships - providing the opportunity of a qualification pathway from Paralegal to Solicitor.

Our 2025 cohort of apprentices started in JCP in September 2025 and are already making their mark on the firm.

Dafydd Hulse is a Legal Assistant in the Corporate and Commercial team. Dafydd joined JCP after completing A-Levels in History, English, Psychology and Welsh Baccalaureate, and now puts his analytical and reasoning skills into practice supporting our Healthcare and Corporate clients.

Ellis Jones is a Business Support Assistant in our Accounts team, supporting the business with filing and paying invoices, alongside general administrative tasks. He joined JCP after working in hospitality, where he developed team working skills in a fast-paced environment.

Beth Loaring and Ellie Gray both joined us as Business Support Assistants, working alongside JCP’s central admin teams to support the smooth running of business operations.

Emma James, HR Officer at JCP Solicitors, said: “We have always seen apprenticeships as a mutually beneficial way of creating accessible career pathways in law and growing our talent pool. We view legal apprentices on a par with our graduate trainees, as both routes into a legal career offer practical, work-based learning and allow us to shape future leaders.”

Those interested in learning more about work-based legal training options with JCP Solicitors, can attend a drop-in event on the evening of Wednesday 6 May 2026 to learn more. Potential apprentices are encouraged to attend with their parents or caregivers, to discover more about the Legal Apprenticeship pathway and routes to qualification.

During the event, attendees will have the chance to chat with JCP’s HR team and meet some current legal apprentices. The event is an opportunity to ask questions, hear real experiences, and get a genuine feel for how the programme works day to day.

To register to attend the drop-in session between 5.00pm - 7.00pm at JCP Solicitors’ Head Office in Swansea Enterprise Park, SA6 8AH on 6 May 2026  - please email recruitment@jcpsolicitors.co.uk.
