Our Electronic Communications Disclaimer

Privacy - Your privacy is important to us, so we want you to know exactly how we will use your personal data. This information can be found in our privacy notice on our website: https://www.jcpsolicitors.co.uk/site/help/privacy_policy. If you would like a hard copy of the notice please contact us.

BEWARE: Bank Account Fraud - Emails are open communications and so are NOT secure. Please do not EVER send us bank account details by email. If this is unavoidable YOU must telephone US to check we have the right details. Our bank account details NEVER change. If you receive an email or telephone call from us asking you to transfer funds to a different bank account to the one notified to you in hard copy, it is FAKE. Do not send any money but telephone us immediately. Third parties sending funds to us having received bank details by email or telephone, do so at their own risk. We do not accept liability for any losses sustained by anyone responding to fraudulent emails or telephone calls.

Respectful Behaviour - JCP Solicitors is proud of its people and is committed to providing a workplace where everyone is treated with dignity and respect. We take all reasonable steps to prevent harassment, bullying, victimisation and discrimination, including conduct by clients, customers and other third parties. We expect everyone who interacts with our colleagues to uphold these standards and will take appropriate action where concerns are identified.

Call Recording Note - Please note that our incoming and outgoing telephone calls to and from the Firm are recorded and retained for a period of 30 days for quality assurance, compliance, record-keeping, verification of instructions, complaint handling, dispute resolution and fraud prevention purposes.  Calls to our dedicated payment line are not recorded.

Telephone Number Spoofing - is where criminals use software so that when calls are received the number that comes up is different to the one they are calling from and may show as the number of a firm of solicitors. The criminals will then pretend to be solicitors and ask for payments to be made to a bank account that they control, which can result in large losses for clients. To protect yourself, if you receive a call from someone saying they are calling from JCP Solicitors and they give you bank details over the phone you should:-
1.     Call us back on 01792 773773 to check the details BEFORE making any payments or transfers; and
2.     If in any doubt DO NOT make the payment or transfer (criminals will often try and rush you by saying it is urgent or must be done immediately)

Legal Ombudsman - Please be advised that the time limits for referring a matter to the Legal Ombudsman have changed. Updated details can be found at https://www.jcpsolicitors.co.uk/site/about/any_concerns/. If you would like a hard copy of this policy please contact us.
