Hi, I am Abi, and my journey with JCP began during my undergraduate placement year in September 2021 when I joined the Court of Protection team. After gaining valuable experience, I returned to Swansea University in September 2022 to complete the third year of my Law degree whilst continuing to work part-time as a Legal Assistant in the team. My dedication and hard work have since led to the next exciting chapter in my career as a Solicitor.
I graduated with a First-Class Honours degree in Law from Swansea University in July 2023 and achieved a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice with the College of Legal Practice whilst studying for my Solicitors Qualifying Examinations (SQE). I qualified as a Solicitor via the SQE route and am proud to continue my career with JCP's Court of Protection team.
Since qualifying as a Solicitor, I have continued to build my experience within the Court of Protection team. I work on a range of matters, including managing professional deputyship, attorneyship and Personal Injury Trust matters, preparing Court of Protection applications, and working closely with our Lifetime Planning team to prepare and submit Statutory Will applications.
In my spare time, I enjoy going for walks with my dog, socialising with friends and volunteering. I have previously volunteered with Discovery Student Volunteering Service, Neath Port Talbot Youth Council and Swansea Bay University Health Board's Youth Advisory Panel. I have also held several positions with the Swansea & District Junior Lawyers Division over the years, including Social Secretary, Charities Officer and Wellbeing Officer.
