JCP Solicitors Celebrates 35 Years Of Excellence
One of Wales’ best known law firms, JCP Solicitors, is celebrating 35 years of business growth, service development and excellence in client service this November, marking their Coral Anniversary with a series of events, celebrations and charity initiatives.
Founded in 1990 by John Collins, Steve Penny, Keith Thomas, and Paul Newman, the business originally operated under the name John Collins and Partners. It began with two offices in Swansea - one at St Mary’s Square and another in the Enterprise Park. At the time, it was among the first professional services firms locally to have an office outside the city centre.
2010 saw the firm re-brand as JCP Solicitors, celebrating 20 years and developing their reputation as a leading voice in Welsh legal services. Expansion plans came to fruition from 2011, with mergers with VJG Johns in Fishguard, soon followed by amalgamating with Bissmire Fudge in Haverfordwest, Peter Cross in Fishguard, Pritchard Edwards in Carmarthen, and then finally Glamorgan Law in Cardiff, Caerphilly, Cowbridge and Pontypridd in 2017.
After a brief pause due to the pandemic, the law firm continued its growth in 2025 with a merger with Howe & Spender in Port Talbot, strengthening its leading position in the Welsh legal sector.
The firm is a trusted legal adviser across a wide range of sectors. It is the South and Mid Wales panel firm for NFU Cymru - a position held since 2008 – and the first law firm in Wales to achieve the Cynnig Cymraeg accreditation. JCP has also featured in Headway’s specialist Head Injury Solicitors Directory for over 10 years.
Teams and individuals are consistently recognised by leading legal bibles - Chambers and Partners, and The Legal 500 - as top-tier practitioners in Wales across multiple service areas.
Colleagues also hold prestigious accreditations and memberships, including NASDAL: National Association of Dental Accountants and Lawyers, Resolution: the Family Law Network, STEP: the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, and are business members of the SIA: Spinal Injuries Association.
Today the award-winning business has a turnover in excess of £10 million, with 40 Directors, 179 team members, and colleagues based across Swansea, Cardiff, Carmarthen, Caerphilly, Cowbridge, Haverfordwest and Port Talbot.
To celebrate its milestone anniversary, JCP is launching a “35 Stories” campaign to share testimonials and success stories of their team and clients. Notably, this includes a “35 under 35” list to showcase future leaders, as well as a digital series promoting 35 community projects that the firm has supported over the years.
