Equality And Diversity Survey

Every two years we ask our colleagues to complete a questionnaire so that we can monitor diversity within our workforce and send the results to our governing body - the Solicitors Regulation Authority. Our 2025 survey received a response rate of between 70% and 80%.

The data from the 2025 survey showed us that:

  • We represent a wide range of professional roles: Our workforce includes a diverse mix of professionals - solicitors (both Directors and non-Directors), licensed conveyancers, managers, and colleagues in IT, HR, and other legal and support functions. This variety reflects the multifaceted nature of our team and the breadth of expertise we bring to our work.
  • Legal and support roles are at the heart of what we do: A significant number of us are engaged in fee-earning roles - solicitors, trainees, CILEX members, and legal advisors- while many others provide essential support to these functions. Together, we ensure the smooth running of our legal services and uphold the high standards our clients expect.
  • Leadership and progression are visible across our team: Our workforce includes solicitor Directors (salaried, partial-equity, and full-equity) and other managerial roles, demonstrating that there are clear pathways for leadership and career development within JCP. This reflects our commitment to nurturing talent and promoting inclusion at all levels.
  • Business support roles are integral to our success: Colleagues in IT, HR, and other corporate services play a vital role in supporting our operations. Their contributions are recognised and valued as part of our collective success.
  • We know there’s more to do: This is just the beginning of our journey. We’re committed to building a more inclusive and representative workplace. You can read more about our commitment to Diversity and Inclusion here.

By focusing on diversity and inclusion in our business, we are not only enhancing our culture but also improving our ability to serve our clients with creativity, empathy, and a broad range of perspectives.

When choosing which data to publish we considered data protection and therefore merged some answer categories and chose not to publish data with a small representation where there was a risk that individuals could be identified.
