Hi, I am Emily, a Solicitor in the Inheritance and Trusts Disputes team. I advise clients on a wide range of contentious probate matters, including disputes involving the validity of Wills and Trusts, claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975, and applications to remove executors. I also assist with cohabitation disputes under the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996, as well as claims involving estates, farms, and business assets based on proprietary estoppel and constructive trusts.
I joined JCP in 2022 and began my training contract in September 2023, qualifying as a Solicitor in March 2025. I graduated from Cardiff University in 2019 with a Law degree with Professional Placement, before going on to achieve a Distinction in my Legal Practice Course and combined Masters at The University of Law in 2021. During this time, I worked part-time at several Legal 500 firms, gaining experience in litigation, white-collar crime, healthcare regulatory, insurance, and commercial property.
I joined the Inheritance and Trusts Disputes team in June 2026, having gained almost four years’ experience within the Agricultural and Property Litigation team at JCP. Through this, I developed a strong understanding of the rural community and the specific challenges faced by clients in this sector. I am also an alumnus of the Royal Welsh Agricultural Society’s Rural Leadership programme and remain passionate about supporting and championing rural communities as part of our Welsh heritage.
I understand that disputes involving estates and families can be particularly sensitive and stressful. I aim to provide clear, practical advice without unnecessary legal jargon, guiding clients through the process in a supportive and cost-effective way. Where possible, I encourage the use of alternative dispute resolution to help avoid the stress and expense of court proceedings.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors, whether that is on long country or seaside walks with my family, gardening, or supporting my local sports teams. I am also a Welsh learner.
