#TeamJCP News: Ruby Shadrach Progresses to Paralegal Role Through Apprenticeship Journey

We are delighted to share that Ruby Shadrach, Business Administration Apprentice, has taken the step up to Paralegal in the Residential Property team as part of her apprenticeship route to qualification.

Ruby joined the firm in September 2024, after completing her AS level studies in Law, Government & Politics, and Criminology at Gorseinon College.

Following her attendance at our apprenticeship open evening, Ruby decided that work-based learning would suit her best, and successfully applied to be a part of the CILEX Level 3 apprenticeship cohort.

Now balancing studies at Sketty Business Hall with her role supporting the Residential Property team, Ruby is progressing her legal career.

Ruby Shadrach, Paralegal, said: “I am thrilled to be progressing through my apprenticeship by taking on a Paralegal role in the Residential Property team. This is a fast-paced area of law, and I love that I can learn on-the-job and strengthen my client service skills, surrounded by experienced professionals.

“Everyone in the team has made me feel so welcome and has been supportive throughout my training journey so far, it truly feels that JCP values its apprentices and invests the time and effort needed. I look forward to moving into the Paralegal role and starting this new challenge as I continue on the apprenticeship pathway to legal qualification.”

Katie Walters, Deputy Team Leader in the Residential Property team said: “We are so proud of all Ruby has achieved since she joined the team and developed her legal knowledge. Her progression up to Paralegal is testament to how hard she is working in her apprenticeship studies.

“Ruby is a shining example of the success to be had through apprenticeships, quickly rising to the next level of her qualification and taking steps towards becoming a certified CILEX Lawyer in future.

“We hope Ruby’s success inspires others who are considering the apprenticeship route into a legal career. As a firm, we take great pride in ‘growing our own’ and developing the next generation of legal minds. We look forward to seeing where Ruby’s career takes her in future.”
