YMCA

Director and Head of Residential Property Emma Gilroy is a Trustee on the Board of YMCA Swansea and has seen first-hand the amazing work they do in order to help the young people in our community to thrive, contribute and have opportunities to develop when many really do not have the best start in their lives. YMCA Swansea is a member of the federated YMCA movement and a member of YMCA England & Wales. The organisation has adapted its focus in order to best serve the community and support those who needed it. From helping those who are young carers, so they feel supported and have a voice, to those young people who only have the opportunity to have a hot meal once a week by attending the centre and accessing the support and programmes they offer. They also provide LGBTQ+ Youth support which enables a safe and inclusive space for 11-25 year olds in the local community to explore their identity.
