Rhian has a personable manner and strives to be of support and assistance to each of her clients throughout the medical negligence claims process. She is skilled at providing advice to victims of medical negligence and their families during what can be a very difficult time.
Rhian is very passionate about medical negligence. She appreciates that every client has different experiences and objectives when pursuing a claim and she provides an extremely professional service whilst maintaining a friendly and approachable demeanour.
Rhian has been practicing medical negligence since 2011 and has a wealth of experience in the area. She has dealt with a wide range of cases including orthopaedic injuries, delay in diagnosis and treatment of cancer and fatal cases. Rhian is also well-acquainted with the NHS Wales Redress Scheme and spends a large part of her time helping clients understand and navigate the scheme.
Whilst working as a medical negligence paralegal from 2011 until 2014, Rhian simultaneously studied her Legal Practice Course at Cardiff Law School, which she completed with a distinction in June 2014. Rhian joined JCP Solicitors as a trainee solicitor in September 2014 and completed seats in Family and Lifetime Planning, Dispute Resolution Services and Medical Negligence.
Rhian undertook training in 2016 to become a Dementia Friend. A Dementia Friend learns more about what it is like to live with dementia and then turns that understanding into action.
Rhian is the National Committee Representative for the West Wales Junior Lawyers Division (WWJLD). The WWJLD provides young lawyers in the community with an opportunity to network, and importantly, to connect with other junior lawyers, discuss issues that concern them and benefit from training and advice provided at conferences and meetings.
Rhian believes in having a healthy work-life balance and outside of work she enjoys winding down by experimenting in photography and baking. Rhian also likes to keep fit and in recent years she has competed in a number of fundraising events including the Cardiff Half Marathon and the Swansea RNLI Mumbles Raft Race. Rhian is proud to have recently completed the GE Aviation Wales Welsh 3 Peaks Challenge 2016 in aid of Tŷ Hafan.
