Gemma Beer
Gemma is a Solicitor within our Medical Negligence team and specialises in claims within the Redress Scheme dealing with a variety of Redress cases. Gemma appreciates that pursuing a claim is an extremely difficult time for both individuals and their families.
Gemma graduated from Cardiff University in 2013, and following this commenced a part-time Master's degree in Legal Aspects of Medical Practice whereby she gained a Distinction, whilst also working as a Paralegal. Gemma completed the Legal Practice Course the following year.
Upon completion of her studies, Gemma joined JCP Solicitors in 2017 and completed her Training Contract in 2020. Gemma re-joined JCP Solicitors in 2022 following employment within the NHS and another law firm.
Gemma is also a Committee Member of the ‘Disabled Solicitors Network’ (formerly the Lawyers with Disabilities Division) of The Law Society. Gemma joined the Committee in September 2019 as she wanted to become involved in promoting equal opportunities for people with disabilities within the legal profession, highlighting disability-related issues of diversity and equality, and encouraging solicitors to use their experiences and expertise to support aspiring solicitors or colleagues seeking to progress in the legal sector.
Gemma has previously raised money for various charities including The Special Care Baby Association at the University Hospital of Wales and the Scoliosis Association UK (SAUK).
Outside of work, Gemma enjoys spending time with her animals, reading books, musical theatre and photography.
