Dismissal based on ill-health and the better alternatives

Dismissing an employee based on their health and capability to perform a role is an area that is open to discrimination claims against employers. However, if handled correctly you can achieve the right outcome for both employee and employer. Reasonable adjustments should always be made where possible and dismissal should be your last resort.

To learn more on this topic you can join us for a free interactive event via Zoom on Wednesday 14 July 2021 at 10am.

During the event we will provide discussion around:

  • Dismissal on the grounds of capability under s.98 ERA 1996
  • Alternatives, such as permanent health insurance and early pension retirement on grounds of ill-health
  • Reasonable adjustments and disability under the Equality Act 2010

There will be an interactive question and answer session at the end which we hope you will informative.

This event will be useful to those working in people management roles. To book your free place, please email events@jcpsolicitors.co.uk.

A  Zoom video link will be sent to all registered attendees on the morning of the event and handouts will be circulated after the event. You can join with video or simply click the link and listen to the presentation.

We look forward to seeing you.
