Broadcaster and journalist Jamie Owen anchors the country's most watched TV News programme BBC Wales Today and the country's most listened to radio show broadcast from Wales, Jamie & Louise - (co presented with Louise Elliott) - is the corporation's flagship radio show.
Jamie's broadcasting career began in London. He quickly became one of the UK's most familar voices reading the shipping forecast, the news and Today in Parliament on BBC Radio Four. He recently returned to his roots at Radio Three to narrate Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf.
Away from his live broadcasting work for television and radio, Jamie has made a number of landmark series for the BBC. MAGIC ISLANDS charted an odyssey around the islands off the coast of Western Britain aboard the century old Bristol channel pilot cutter, Mascotte. The vessel was called into action again for a follow up series MAGIC HARBOURS charting a course around the harbours of Wales.
Jamie is the author of five travel books, the most recent AROUND WALES by B ROADS and BYWAYS published by Random House, LONDON.
A popular after dinner speaker, Jamie is also in constant demand as a conference host and chairman, his experience of high pressure, peak audience live broadcasting understandably comes in useful in the world of event management.
