JCP Staff Get In A Spin For Cancer Charity At Summer Soiree

It was more about trainers and energy drinks than gowns and Pimms when we enjoyed our annual summer party on Friday 19th June.

Staff saddled up for an all-day spinathon to help raise £800 for Macmillan Cancer Support – and to lend our backing to a colleague, Chris Davies, who is taking on the 320 mile One Love Ride from Paris to Swansea for Macmillan.

Chris, a Director and Head of Property Services, based in our Swansea office, was prompted to sign up for the challenge shortly after he lost a close friend to cancer. He says he is delighted that his JCP colleagues are giving him their backing in such a thoughtful way.

“JCP is very much of the community and for the community and staff here like to get involved in events and charity drives, and to support each other. I’m pleased so many were happy to share my pain in the saddle!

He adds: “I am by no means a dedicated cyclist – I’m happy just to take the bike along the prom and back – so I have been training hard to get in shape for the One Love Ride and I’m looking forward to the challenge.”

Chris’s four-day ride will set off from the Eiffel Tower on July 30th, taking in the views from the banks of the Seine, before the riders board the ferry in Le Harve and continue their journey in the UK.
