Law Firm Appoints New Directors
- AuthorHayley Davies
Welsh law firm JCP Solicitors has appointed two new Directors from within its ranks to further strengthen its team and to continue to manage ongoing growth at the company.
Thomas Rees, a specialist Medical Negligence Solicitor, and Matthew Wells, Head of Family Law for Swansea and West Wales, became directors with effect from 1 October.
Thomas is proud to be President of the West Wales Law Society, having been on its committee for many years, and he is a valued member of the Carmarthen Borough Law Society, as well as being listed in the Spinal Injuries Association directory, for his work in spinal cord injury cases. Thomas is adept at building strong relationships with his clients, who, in most clinical negligence cases, are coping with devastating and long-lasting health issues.
Matthew has been Head of the Swansea and West Wales Family Team since 2017. A robust advocate and an excellent negotiator, his down to earth and approachable style has made him a long-standing asset to JCP. A market-leading practitioner in South West Wales in complex financial remedy cases, Matthew is an accredited Resolution specialist, committed to the constructive and conciliatory resolution of family disputes.
These new appointments follow on the heels of two other new Directorships within JCP, announced in April of this year.
JCP Director and Head of Medical Negligence, Matthew Owen, said: “Here at JCP Solicitors providing a clear path for progression and nurturing people so that they reach their full potential is a key element of our business strategy. We don’t hold back from appointing new directors and it is always a pleasure to be able to reward our outstanding colleagues in this way.
“Matthew and Thomas have both given JCP years of service within two demanding and sensitive areas of law and their expertise and professionalism are highly prized by the business, by their colleagues and, importantly, by our clients. This is a natural progression for them both and I look forward to working ever more closely with them.”
JCP Solicitors is one of the largest Welsh indigenous law firms with nine offices across South and West Wales. Matthew and Thomas work out of JCP’s Swansea, Carmarthen, Haverfordwest and Fishguard offices.
