Even a business which does not patent inventions or produce artistic work will have intellectual property issues to deal with. It may have a trademark or business name to protect or exploit, designs or written plans to protect, or it may simply be using computer software of which it will need a licence.

Almost every document and idea produced by the business and it workers will be subject to protection by copyright or confidentiality and can provide valuable assets, but all too often these go unnoticed by the management of the business or, worse still, are exploited by the employee who played a part in creating them.

We help businesses exploit and protect their IP rights, whether it be drafting a licence for the use of an invention by another business, suing a competitor for infringing a trademark or producing a contract of employment setting out clearly who owns the rights to inventions made at work.
