Government to ban referral fees for Personal Injury.

The big news announced in the legal world today is that the Government is to ban referral fees for Personal Injury claims. In a nutshell, these are the fees paid to companies who obtain details of people who have had an accident and may be entitled to claim some compensation.

From my point of view, and probably from the point of view of many other reputable law firms, the banning of these fees is good news. JCP have previously looked into obtaining client’s details via referral fees but found it was not for us for a variety of reasons.
