 Luke returned to JCP in September 2008 as a trainee solicitor, and consequently became an Associate within the Employment Team in 2010.

Luke has gained a large amount of experience in both contentious and non-contentious employment issues. He advises both individuals and businesses on a daily basis on a wide ranging plethora of employment issues, from redundancy, disciplinary and grievance procedures to compromise agreements and discrimination matters. 

Luke is heavily involved with the JCP Employment Protection Scheme, which provides employers with a full audit of all HR documents and contracts and an unlimited 24 hour Employment Law and HR advice line. As a result, Luke deals with a wide ranging client base, with which he strives to understand each business on their own individual merits, and assess their specific needs and requirements.

Luke is particularly interested in keeping abreast of the constant changes in employment law made as a result of legislation and case law, and regularly writes articles and blogs on such changes.

Where did you grow up?
I was born in Newport but spent a lot of time in Pendine,West Wales when I was younger.

What was your first job?
Part of the property in Pendine was a mini-market which I helped my parents to run on weekends and school holidays. The stories I could tell you! I can even still remember some of the paper orders!

Who would be your ideal dinner guests?
Peter Kay, Tom Jones, Pink and Jesus (please note that this is not ordered in importance). I know it's a completely random selection however I think it could be a good evening

Where is your ultimate holiday destination?
I'd like to go to the Seychelles and chill out on the beach with a book and 1 or 20 cocktails! I would like to try scuba-diving too. (not after the cocktails though)

What would you rather be doing now?
Tearing up the rug on a dance floor somewhere!
