Court of Protection Receiver

Individual

mumA Receiver means a person who is appointed by the Court of Protection in London to deal with the financial affairs and domestic needs of a person who cannot do so for themselves. A Receiver is appointed after incapacity has struck, therefore, when it is too late to prepare an Enduring Power of attorney, an application should be made for a Receiver to be appointed instead. There may be many reasons for this- such as an elderly person suffering from dementia or a person who has been involved in a bad accident.

Our Wills and Probate team have considerable experience of dealing with the Public Guardianship Office and the Court of Protection. We act for friends and family of patients who wished to be appointed as Receiver and we are also appointed Professonal Receiver for many patients.
