Well done Birchgrove Comprehensive!
I was recently asked to be a business mentor to a group from Birchgrove Comprehensive to help them develop a marketing plan for their product in the Swansea Bay Young Business Dragons.
Schools from across Swansea and their business mentors came together for the semi finals which took place on Friday 14th October in the National Waterfront Museum. Although tough competition meant that the team did not make it through to the final, they put in 100% effort and did really really well. They worked very hard on their product, design and their marketing plan, and learnt the most important lesson about running any business - team work!
Their product idea was to re-create and modernise the Olympic Rings to create linking hearts that could be printed on t-shirts as the brand “Lovin’ Lympics” with 50% of the profits going to Charity.
With an already established Facebook page and some great ideas about expanding their product range, their pitch to the panel of judges was really strong.
I was very proud to have been a part of their idea, it was an exciting day and I hope that the team got as much from me as I from them.
Pic below of me and the girls!
